” And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” (Luke 6:31, ESV)

How Do You Want to Be Treated? (Luke 6:31)
In Luke 6:31, Jesus invites us into a divine rhythm of love and humility with these simple yet powerful words: “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” It’s more than good advice—it’s a call to mirror the very heart of God. When we pause and ask ourselves, how do you want to be treated, we open our hearts to self-reflection, empathy, and the transforming work of the Spirit.
We all long to be seen, heard, and loved. That longing is placed in us by the One who designed us for relationship—not just with one another, but with Himself. As we live out this truth, we begin to realize that the way we treat others is directly shaped by our own experience of God’s kindness. When we remember how tenderly He has treated us—how full of grace and mercy He has been—we are moved to extend that same compassion to those around us.
Approaching this command can feel daunting. How do we live this out in a world filled with impatience, pride, and pain? The answer is found in the posture of prayer and trust. We come before God not with perfection, but with bold faith—believing that He meets us in our weakness and fills us with strength. When we seek His presence daily, we are reminded that we are not alone in this calling. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to respond with love, even when it’s hard.
This kind of love isn’t natural. It’s supernatural. And it grows as we draw near to God in prayer, asking Him to shape our hearts to reflect His. Let today be a moment to surrender to His grace, to choose kindness over convenience, and to walk in the power of His Spirit. Let us live the question how do you want to be treated—not only for our sake, but to reveal the love of Christ in every interaction.
